If you haven't taken a look at the standings in the Course Challenge Series this year (Yeah Right!) then I am telling you every division is coming down to the wire. This tournament will truly determine "The Best in Alaska" in each division. Registration will start at 9am at Peters Creek where we will play 18 holes Then move to Kincaid for a final 18 holes. We will have a prize payout for the tourney and then special awards will be given to the top 3 overall in every division. The overall winner of the Course Challenge Finale will also recieve the #1 Bag Tag for 2006! This is going to be exciting...See you there! ChuckD.

It's amazing after a whole seasons worth of play how close these titles actually came down to. Let's Start with the Open/Adv Division. We all knew starting the day who ever won the Finale was going to most likely win the overal title. What some of you don't know is how it went down...Greg left PC with a 6 shot lead over me. By the time we stood on the 36th hole of the day (18 at Kincaid) Greg only had a 1 shot lead. I tried to drive the basket rather than lay up and give myself a chance at birdie. The result was disastrous, my drive went way left over the hill and I scored a 5 while Greg went on to par the hole. Oh, if I only had that tee shot to do over again. Congrats Greg. In the Masters division it was pretty much the same scenario...whoever won the finale was probaly going to win the title. Guess what? After 36 hole Tony was only trailing Steve by one shot! Sound familiar? Well Steve ended up making birdie while Tony made a nice par. Congrats Steve. The Intermediate division came down to Louie v. Tim. After 36 holes they were all square! Tim made up 5 shots at Kincaid to force a playoff that would decide the tourney and the title. Louie made a nice par on the first playoff hole to win! Congrats Louie. The novice division went into a playoff as well to decide the winner and the overall title. Congrats Donny. Congrats to Sarah in the Womens division and Kyle in the Juniors division. I hope you don't get to comfortable with your titles though because I know next year is going to bring more competition to your divisions! 4 out of 6 divisions literally came down to the last hole! That is pretty amazing considering the course challenge series this year was comprised of 252 holes! And there were no repeat winners from last year! Shane, you did a great job! And all the players out there did a great job also. Next Year is going to be Awesome! ChuckD.
