As of today, no. I haven't got the time to put into getting this sanctioned or to pull in some sponsors and make it work like a properly sanctioned PDGA tournament should, so I've made the decision to pull the plug on this one.
If someone else wants to be TD and do all of the work that needs to be done, then we can talk, but it's getting late and I simply don't have the time to do it right. |

I am happy to announce that with the help of John Lorentzen and Jonathan Allen, we are able to go ahead with the Course Challenge Finale.
The Course Challenge series Finale will be held on Saturday October 6. This will be sanctioned as a PDGA "C" tier tournament this year. The tournament will begin with 18 holes in the morning at the new Russian Jack Disc Golf Course and finish with 27 holes in the afternoon at Kincaid Park. We're getting started early! Registration will begin at 8:00AM at the Russian Jack Chalet. Players Meeting will be at 8:45am and we will begin play shortly after 9:00AM. Don't be late! The cost will be: $50 OPEN $40 ADVANCED, INTERMEDIATE, MASTERS $30 RECREATIONAL, WOMEN All PDGA rules will be in effect. Since this will be a sanctioned tournament, if you are not already a current PDGA member, there will be an additional $5 temporary one-day membership fee. We will be awarding prizes for the tournament itself as a PDGA "C" tier tournament, and then will be awarding the prizes for the overall Course Challenge final standings. If you have any questions or would like to help out, please contact me at 360-8556. I look forward to a great turnout for our final tournament of the 2007 summer season! |

not canceled, canceled which is it? I have always made it a point to play every sanctioned event in alaska to support the pdga and disc golf in alaska. correct me if i am wrong but i thought sanctioned events required at least one month notice to the pdga, so all pdga members would have time make arrangements.. This finale cc should not be sanctioned and i will be contacting the pdga to voice my complaint. maybe you guys should consider changing the club name to the anchorage disc golf association, because you do not represent alaska disc golf in any way, shape, or form!!! thanks for the notice. NOT!!

Quit whining, and trying to ruin everybody else's fun. It's hard to pull a sanctioning for a tournament at the last minute. Especially with all the crap they have going on right now. If you want more of a heads up get off that island. Or move down to the states where you wouldn't even be able to hang in the advanced division let alone pro. With your attitude I'm sure everyone will be missing you at the tournament. Better quit pouting and get that plane ticket or you'll miss the event.

aksnowwoman, maybe you should go back down to the states and work on your game some more, because if you had any game maybe i might know who you are.

Why don't you ask anyone in Anchorage who I am? I'm the guy that holds pretty much every course record in Anchorage. Oh, and I do live in the states. I do know how your game is and you wouldn't even be competition for me down here or up there for that matter. My PDGA # is 27658 why don't you look it up and tell me if I have game. Last I checked my rating is much higher than yours from playing much harder courses, and certainly much larger tournaments. So instead of talking smack and making yourself look like an ass maybe you should do some research first and you'd realize who the little girl is.

You guys have heard of that section of the forum right? It's called smack talk for a reason... so it doesn't get mixed up with legitimate posts.

Hey Steve,
Could you post the scores for the CC Finale and the final standings for the Course Challenge Series. Thanks, Edan |

Re: Results and Final Standings | ||

Here are the final Course Challenge standings for 2007. I had to make some adjustments - for example, when there were events where there were no entrants in a group, that event was automatically one of the dropped events on the basis that everyone can't get 1 point when no one shows up. This happened in the Recreational (CC2), Masters (CC5) and Women's (CC2 & 3) groups.
Also, where there was a tie, the tie went to either the player who participated in more events or the player who won more events. This allowed Tony Bickert to take 1st place in Masters and Sara Ecker to take 3rd place in Womens. Congratulations to all who placed and thanks to all who participated!

FYI the TD submission deadline is 10/30 for the next pdga ratings update.
Since you worked so hard to get it pdga sanctioned in time, it would be awesome if the results were in for the update. Thanks for putting on a great tourney! jamie |

Were the results of this tourney submitted by the 10/30 deadline? I just looked at the updated PDGA player rankings and they did not include the results from the CC Finale.
