hey all, I just got this announcement and if you live in the neighborhood of RJ or love the course as much as some of our members then it is REALLY important to attend these meetings and get on this list.

A meeting has been set by the City regarding Russian Jack Springs Park. Please plan to take the time to attend the meeting on Monday, December 1 - 6:30 p.m. at Begich Middle School.

Westchester - 2006 Upgrades

ADGA has been given the OK by Parks and Rec to begin the planned improvements at Westchester. The first thing to schedule will be preparations for the installation of concrete tee pads. We're going to have a big volunteer effort on Saturday June 10, and we will be identifying the pad locations, scraping down to solid soils with a bobcat and placing / compacting D1 gravel so that we can then come in and place forms and pour concrete. I am glad that the Gazebo has been taken out of play at Westchester. Unfortunately, the location of basket # 1 fails to provide a clear radius for putting, one of the basic elements of course design. It is also possible to take trees out of the fairway without leaving stumps that are unsightly and can become a trip hazzard.

Hey golfers. The Course Revision Committee is open to all ADGA members who want to get involved in making improvements to the existing courses. You can post on the discussion site or attend the monthly meetings. This Saturday 2pm at Barnes and Noble, during the monthly meeting the committee will be making recommendations for Westchester and looking to start work on Kincaid. safety issues at westchester

On monday Valkon and I heard from D. Anderson about a letter the Mayor had just recieved from someone who got hit in the head with a disc on the gazebo hole at westchester. Said individual was nearly rendered unconscious and missed 3 days of work. He wrote the mayor concerned about safety. D. Anderson asked us to do something. Valkon purchased some chicken wire and we(timk,k pitts and Valkon) coverd 2 sides of the gazebo as a short term fix. I assured her we would reconfigure the course...

westchester

anyone available to volunteer some time painting on the far end of the course can meet on mon/tue, July 18th and 19th at 5pm at the Trail Watch building on 15th and Scenicway for about 4 hours of work each day. This project is a beautification effort by Nancy Beardsley from MOA. She has had some volunteers bail on her and could use some help. We may be able to leverage the hours into materials like new basket bottoms, signage and tee pads for westchester. any questions call me at 272-0515...

new layout for Kincaid
