ADGA has 18 baskets?

If we have this many baskets we should be scouting for another 18 hole course somewhere. I've been thinking about it a lot lately and asking others for input as to where a good place might be. I think that it just might be a thing of driving around town and looking obviously. I would assume that once we scout some spots that we would have to speak with Park and Rec. about it to get their blessing.

One idea that I had was the old school Kincaid course, what about setting up...

Russian Jack - permanent 18 hole course

I hear Anchorage Park and Rec has 9 baskets up for use. Also, we have their blessing to make a 18 hole course at Russian Jack. What is it going to take in order to set that up? I think that some of the holes at RJ are a little too long and should be shortened with baskets placed strategically and some others placed in the woods somewhere. I think that some of the places that pins were setup during the recent doubles tournament would be good candidates for shortening of some of the holes.

I am up here visiting friends and I went to the Hanshew course with my son. Baskets 1, 3, 4 and 8 are gone. I think the course would be fun for young players. My son liked it a lot but where are the baskets?

The wife and I are headed to Alaska on a cruise in June. We'd like to create our own excursion and play a local course, somewhere near Juneau, Skagway, or Ketchikan.

New Kincaid Course Tour

COME SEE THE NEW KINCAID LAYOUT!!!

John Lorentzen and I will be giving a tour of the new Kincaid course this Thursday (tomorrow) Aug 9.
We are looking for volunteers to help dig holes for basket sleeves, and will be walking the course, showing the layout and where the baskets will be located. They will all be staked and painted.

We're looking for as many folks to show up as possible. The hole digging can be done by anyone with a shovel and a post-hole digger and doesn't...

Missing basket at Service

As of yesterday, the 20th of June, basket #2 at Service is missing. I was told that the lock was broken/missing so I am assuming its disappearance is due to thief and although Service is rarely played, I wanted to inform everyone of the happenings on the south side of town. Thank you and let me know of any information regarding this event or anyway I can help organize a replacement.

Up until last night, I know Steve Wrenn and I both had -5 on 9 holes from the new tee pads...But Last night with Louie and Will as my witnesses I shot -6 on 9 holes from the tees. Yeah Baby!

Vandalism at Westchester

Sometime after Saturday June 10, someone took an axe to the single tree on the hillside in the fairway for Hole 5, and chopped it down! I drove by this morning just to see how the gravel pads were holding up and whether folks were abiding by our request to stay off the pads, and as I drove by the middle three holes along Minnesota Dr, I saw the tree just laying there next to a 3 ft stump. I drove around and walked in to see what was going on, and it's pretty clear that someong chopped it...
