disc golf promotion idea

being that discs and bags ect. are cheap and all it takes is a field to throw some discs in to see how they all fly, i thought it might be cool to get together wth play it again or sports authority and get them to bring out one or two of each disc from disccraft and innova and let people throw them. also bring out a few hundered discs with multiples of the main ones (aviar, leopard, roc, wraith and similars from disccraft) that are for sale. wouldn't take much, could sell them out of some...

Channel 11 - Get Out series

Earlier this week, John L., Brandon and I were asked by Meteorologist Mitch Sego to play a round of disc golf. Mitch produces a weekly feature on the Channel 11 news called "Get Out". This week's episode was shot Monday evening at Kincaid park as the four of us played a round. They broadcast the show Wednesday at 6pm and Thursday at 6am.

So I'm on the plane flipping through the April 07 on-board magazine and I see an article titled, "10 ways to enjoy the outdoors in Anchorage". Lo and Behold, among climbing flattop, fishing, golfing, Spring skiing, snowboarding, hiking the coastal trail, mountain biking, and orienteering, there's--"Putt some Disc Golf"!

I quote a potion of the exerpt, "...Enter a tournament, or just putt around on one of the handful of local courses such as Westchester Lagoon...

Well, it pays to live in the lower 48 at times. This is one of those times. See, I got my copy of DiscGolf World News probably before any of you did. Let me just say it's awesome! Alaska got FIVE pages of coverage!!! Great article, Greg. Well written (you could do that for a living someday if you try REAL hard haha) and you did a good job of covering golf and touristy stuff too. The magazine has it right, Alaska is a discgolf destination! Thanks for putting that pic of me in there...

There is a story in today's Alaska Star about the new courses and this weeks tournament. The best part is that Aaron Wiseman is on the front page throwing an anhzer shot out of a grove of trees Monday at Peters Creek. The daily news goes all over the state. To bad our Officer is Overwhelmed.
