Homer 4/20 Tourney

The Moose Pretzel in Homer will be hosting its first tourney of the year on Sunday April 20th. The tourney will be a fun way for us to kick of the season and we should have some great prize packages to give out. This tourney will most likely be an all day 36-hole event and will not be PDGA sanctioned. There is currently a couple of feet of snow on the course, so snowshoes or winter boots may be necessary. I will post more detailed information soon.

Ice Bowl 08'

The Alaska Disc Golf Association would like to invite you to their annual Ice Bowl Fundraiser Tournament at Peter's Creek Saturday Feb 23rd. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Player's Meeting at 9:45 / Tee off at 10. $30 entry fee includes lunch $25 entry fee just for tourney. Along with Ice Bowl 08' discs, there will be shirts, beanies, hoodies, towels, hot beverages, food and a basket available for sale. This is a fundraiser so don't come broke!!! Our goal is $1000! Homer Night Tourney

Shine some light on the Pretzel down in Homer on the evening of Dec. 15th. This will be a non-sanctioned night tournament with night flight lights and glow sticks. Registration will be at 4:20 pm and the Player's meeting will be at 5:00 pm. More information coming soon.

2007 Turkey Tourney

The 7th annual frozen turkey tourney will be Saturday November 17th at West Chester Lagoon disk golf course. Sign up at 11:00 and the round will start at 12:00 noon.

The entry fee will be one frozen turkey. Bring two turkeys and you get a custom event disc.

All turkeys collected will be given to Beans Cafe.

Please come out and enjoy a fun round of golf and support a good cause.

Homer Fall Classic - PDGA

If anyone is interested in going and wants to carpool post here, I know there is already a crew of folks heading down from A-town so I'm sure there is room somewhere.

Visiting Anchorage for the first time the week of July 4th. Great to see an active dg scene there! I hope to get in as much golf as I can while there, including leagues if possible.

I will be watching the board and looking to hook up for a round or two while there.

World's Biggest

The 2007 World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend will be held this Saturday May 5 at Westchester Lagoon Disc Golf Course! Registration begins at 10AM and play begins at noon or so. The entry fee is $25 and that gets you a disc, a mini and a Tee Shirt.

Ice Bowl 2007

If it is not too late, I vote for Peter's Creek as venue for Ice Bowl 2007. The conditions are great and would make a challenging tournament! I would come out prior to tourney to shovel the tee pads and make a solid "trail" on all the fairways.

I would like to see Sunday golf as regular thing at Peter's Creek. Carpooling will help out with gas prices and it is not as snowbound as you think if you haven't been there lately. See my reply to Tim K's Saturday Westchester skins topic for better explanation.

Turkey Tourney

So what is the protocol for the Turkey Tourney? Do we just show up with a bunch of turkeys that day? Or do we bring them somewhere else? My work gives out turkeys each year to its employees, some of whom donate them to Bean's anyway. So I'm going to try and get the folks who usually donate them to give them to me so that we can get that amount matched (is it by Play it Again?). Hopefully we'll have a really good turnout! Lost Mini at Peter's Creek

I lost my pdga mini at Peter's Creek yesterday 9/18 as I think it must have fallen out of the outer pocket of my bag. Its a white mini with my pdga #30874 on it and I thought I would just post to see if anyone picked it up. I'll probably never see it again but I thought it was worth a shot.

Lost wallet at Kincaid

Yes, I lost my wallet (and my money, but that was because I couldn't drive a disc for my life last night!) during Wednesday night doubles at Kincaid on 7/5, sometime between 6:30 and 10pm. It's a small (maybe iPod sized), brown vinyl zippered thing with blue waves stitched on it. There was my license, debit, and one credit card in there, and MAYBE a buck or two. Please call if you find it!

Worlds Biggest Disc Golf Day!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and a BIG Thank You to all the volunteers who helped make 2005 a great year for disc golf!

BTW, Ed is in town and Monday is a Holiday for most so play PC at 1pm if you want to try out your new plastic.
